Mary's Marvelous
Mary's Marvelous
"I had always wanted a restaurant of my own but didn't want to do it in the city...I saw something simpler..."
Mary Schoenlein was serving as executive chef at the old Red Horse Market in Amagansett after demanding chef roles in top restaurants of New York City. At the time of working at Red Horse, she knew that she wanted to open her own place. Starting her line of fresh granolas seemed to be the spark. The granola had become a quick favorite with loyal patrons who couldn’t wait to see what Mary would make next.
Mary’s journey out east started in another beach community, her childhood island home of Bermuda. As one of four kids, everyone pitched in to help with daily chores. Mary learned how to cook early on and immediately fell in love with baking. This experience instilled a sense of hard work, responsibility, and desire to create connection through food.
Choosing to pursue the culinary arts as her craft, Mary sharpened her skills in Jonathan Waxman’s Jams and Michelin star rated Gotham Bar and Grill before moving to France for additional training. After she returned, she met Pat McKibbin, her husband, and business partner. Mary, hungry for her own venue, chose to leave the city for the picturesque landscape of the East End. The granola served at Red Horse over twenty years ago may have lent its name to Mary’s future restaurant, but it’s her journey, tenacity, and impact on our community that makes Mary Marvelous.
We designed the new website for Mary's Marvelous to allowing them to showcase their gourmet take out menus and daily specials. We've helped them bring out their brand story through rich copy development and dynamic photography. We're still by their side as they're launching a new e-commerce store and continue to coach them on branding and presentation of their online presence.
